England’s 2019 World Cup hero Ben Stokes has come out of retirement to help his team’s bid to defend their title in India. But the scenario did not go as planned when he suffered an untimely injury and missed a few matches for his team. Even when he was in the XI against South Africa, his contribution was negligible as England lost by 229 runs.

Nothing seems to go right for Stokes or England, on or off the field. On Wednesday, the star all-rounder recounted in a video a horrifying cartwheel incident involving him, skater Liam Livingstone and coach Andy Mitchell, where they narrowly escaped an accident.
“So me and Livi [Liam Livingstone] are pretty big guys, and we also have a strength and conditioning coach, Mitch, who is even bigger than us. Tuk-tuks are not very big. So you can imagine that we were crushed in the back of his tuk-tuk. Here’s what I have… We’re approaching the roundabout here. He’s not slowing down and yes, there he is! Stokes spoke on 4CAST’s The Athlete`s Voice.
Although the video does not specify the time and location of the incident, it appears to be in Delhi.

ENG vs SL is of utmost importance for the defending champions. Both teams are at the bottom of the 2023 World Cup scoreboard, and winning the match here will help them gain a lot of confidence. Despite their poor form, England are still favorites to win the match.
